What Does Metaphysician Mean?

Welcome!

Thank you so much for spending some of your precious time exploring my blog.

From talking with others over the years, I realize that few people have the right idea of what a genuine metaphysician’s spiritual path and lifestyle is really all about. So many things are labeled metaphysical that have little to do with sincere metaphysical study.

Though I aim to keep quiet about my true spiritual life with the people I’m around all day, I am asked directly sometimes and so I have to answer honestly. After all, “honesty at whatever cost” is one of the spiritual principles a sincere spiritual student must live by, or they’re not very spiritual at all.

Please God, can’t I just pick and choose the spiritual laws I would prefer to live by, because O how that one pains me!

No? Well…darn.

When I Say Metaphysician

When I tell someone I am a metaphysician, for example, at best people think I mean I practice “some eastern religious thing” like Hinduism or Buddhism. And while certainly metaphysical teachings are imbedded in every major religion, and in these two in particular it has been well preserved and handed down, the metaphysical path and the religious path are not the same things.

At worst, however, when I say “metaphysician” or “aura” to just about anyone, it tends to conjure up images of the occult, tarot cards, crystal ball gazing or even witchcraft (black magic). These are not the metaphysical path for spiritual growth that leads to God knowing and real spiritual power either. Much more on the difference in future posts.

But I once thought just the same when I heard about things like metaphysics and the aura.

So I get it.

I understand the skepticism, scorn, automatic revulsion, and even fear. Some of it is well-earned, but mostly there’s just a lot of confusion, jumbled-up-mismashed-info, misguided naivete, and plain ignorance out there on this topic.

But the sincere students & devoted teachers of the genuine mystical traditions of the world have always known better.

Seeing the Light

Fortunately, I’ve “seen the light” now, too…pun intended!

So I wanted to do my small part to help set the record straight.

The fact is, the ancient genuine metaphysical traditions of the world that are still around to this day aren’t really out there bringing attention to themselves. Some aren’t meant to I suppose, and some others I guess just aren’t very good at.

But so long as they and their teachings remain hidden, hard-to-find, and exclusive, metaphysics will go on being perceived as a meaningless gray zone, fuzzy “pseudoscience”, pure evil, or nothing more than a circus act, or a cultish fringe for the weird, the narcissistic, and the gullible.

Granted, I am a little weird, now that I think about it…hmm…

But nevermind that!

Though I tremble and have to overcome a lot of fear and doubt to run this blog, and put up with some ridicule to put myself out here so publicly, I know I have been given perhaps the greatest gift and adventure life has to offer. I don’t want anyone to miss out on something this important if they were meant to take part…all because they got a skewed or biased impression of what it means to live life as a metaphysician.

Or simply couldn’t FIND one of these great, authentic mystery schools.

To me, that’s the saddest thought of all.

Go and Grow!

We are living in amazing times. Seriously, if you are alive today, you probably have no idea what a privilege has been given to you.

There has never been a better time to grow spiritually in the whole history of the world than right now.

So what I did myself, and what I recommend to everyone who asks me about this, is that if you sense that still small voice whispering for you to pursue the spiritual opportunities being put in front of you, seize those opportunities!

Then judge for yourself what they add to your life.

If you’re going in the right direction, the path you were meant to follow, it will change you for the better in every way. And it will bless every person around you.

Like the Good Book says, you will know it by its fruits.

On this blog, I will share with you explicitly the value metaphysics has added to my life. If one person reading these things enjoys a slightly better life experience from it, then it will have been worth it to me.

My Spiritual Teachers

I am not a spiritual teacher (yet), but I am a long-time student of a truly great one.

As a modern mystery school student on the path of ascension, my approach to life is strongly guided by the knowledge & wisdom of the mystery tradition known as the Kingdom of Light Teachings, as taught by Barbara Y. Martin & Dimitri Moraitis of the Spiritual Arts Institute.

What I will share on this site is some of the information from these teachings, along with my personal experiences, opinions, and insights with striving to live by these teachings. And sometimes FAILING to live by these teachings and the outcome of those moments.

However, everything I share directly from the Kingdom of Light teachings here is also available in the four (soon to be five!) books Barbara & Dimitri have published for general public audiences to begin exploring these profound topics.

So if you enjoy what I write about and you’d like to learn more right away, I recommed these four books below as a great place to start

1

Change Your Aura, Change Your Life

A Step-by-Step Guide to Unfolding Your Spiritual Power

2

The Healing Power of Your Aura

How to Use Spiritual Energy for Physical Health & Well-Being

3

Karma and Reincarnation

Unlocking Your 800 Lives to Enlightenment

4

Communing With the Divine

Guide to Angels, Archangels, the Christ, the Lower Forces and the Spiritual Hierarchy by the Mozart of Metaphysics

What Motivates Me Most

Most especially, I hope to inspire others meant to follow the metaphysical path to find the courage & motivation to jump in and get started.

Or build on what they’ve already accomplished spiritually to climb even higher.

I am so happy to share here whatever I can to help others who are ready for the light to find their way out of the dark.

Thanks for reading this and checking out my blog.

I am touched my work here speaks to you, AmDetermined!

The books are a great starting place (that’s how I found the Spiritual Arts Institute), and they will walk you through how to get started working with Divine Light in your meditations right away.

Thank you kindly for helping support me by purchasing any books through my Amazon links, too! That is very generous.

If you are interested in starting the classes, don’t worry about any affiliate links for that. There are none! I am not being paid to share SAI with the world through my blog; I just know that in a future lifetime, I’ll cash in on the good karma from this when someone like me will be working hard to help me find the best spiritual teacher!

There is no prerequisite to start, but the foundation class does have to be taken first, and that is an 8-week course called Change Your Aura, Change Your Life. You will want to buy the book by the same name first as they do study it in class.

Classes are taught live, either locally in Encinitas, CA or globally online. You will always receive a recording of the class and notes after every session through SAI’s student portal.

It may be best to sign up for SAI’s email newsletter so you will be notified of all upcoming classes and workshops. We are in the middle of summer classes now, and I don’t think the Fall sessions start until late September, but there are a couple of events in September you could join to sort of “sample” these classes and teachings.

The class info site is SpiritualArts.org/classes

Certainly, you are welcome to contact me privately! Email me  at desa@liveheallove.com or DM me through Instagram, Twitter or Pinterest if you prefer and I will be happy to help you out!

    Respectfully,

    Desa

You got my name right on, Taetske, my dear! Having an unusual name yourself, maybe like me though you find you’re happy to respond to anything, right? LOL.

Your comment is very inspired, by the way, when you speak of how modern man has managed to distance himself so much from nature and even our own ancient past. Yet, STILL, no matter the heights we claim as a civilization, we all come back to these same fundamental questions we have always asked!

Many things in the modern world seem antagonistic to the spiritual. Or completely fray the mind in endless meaningless distractions and diversions. And our obsession with our physical bodies swing from one sort of grotesque extreme to the other as we seek to try to discover and even define who we are by reshaping, twisting and abusing the body or the bodies of others.

As if we were only our bodies!

But no matter what we do, so much research shows a people that are less happy, content, fulfilled, productive and accomplished than ever before.

The truth is not that there is a spiritual life and earthly life.

    IT IS ALL SPIRITUAL.

Try to separate the spiritual from something and you get only stagnation and even degeneration because everything in life is born first of spirit. Spirit is the source of all true inspiration, all science and technology that helps people, all music and art and literature, all success, all prosperity, and all advancement.

When we aren’t aware of that, we cut ourselves off from inspiration, or if we get a great idea we may be tempted to misuse it, thinking it belongs to us. Really, we were just the instrument through which it flowed to reach others.

Even so, I’m not saying something has to be labeled as spiritual to help us grow and find our balance, and avoid taking the wrong road that leads to misery. There really are many paths to God, all ultimately ushering every soul tenderly, bit by bit, to the same destination we all seeking. And every path is designed to uniquely suit all the various souls in their own special tastes, preferences, abilities, and consciousness.

Work, art, science, religion, metaphysics, philosophy, ethics, business, and so many other things can be that path that gives the soul opportunity to find balance and to grow–if pursued with the right attitude and a heart bent on service.

It is the living utterly concerned with self, and ruthless ambition that leaves us ironically wanting and feeling a lack and imbalance.

Thanks for your kind words and I do wish you every success in your own pursuits!

    Respectfully,

    Desa

I really appreciate the reasons for creating your website like to help me get out of the darkness. I will buy one of the books through your affiliate links on your website. When I complete the reading and I see that it contains what I am looking for, I will tell others about the Spiritual Arts Institute. I will contact you privately for more questions about it, how I can be a student, and if any pre-requisite training is needed.

    Good Morning Desa,

I am not sure but hope I got your name right.

Websites like yours are very much needed. The modern human, living in a mechanical world and mostly separated from nature still wants to find the answer to those questions the human race has asked since the beginning. We want to know why we are here, we want to know where we belong, and where we will be going afterward.

Bringing body, mind, and spirit together again we will receive the answer to our questions.

    Regards, Taetske
