Free Inspirational Quotes About Life – I Love Rain, What is a Rain Lover Called?

By Desa | Aura Colors and Divine Light Rays

Our second featured free inspirational quotes about life is really just for fun! And having fun, being playful, being silly is a spiritual must, too, or else certain levels of the mind can grow rigid. Consider this post an homage to that idea, born out of my own reluctant foray into playfulness when work was pressing down hard.

I have noticed that many of us metaphysicians feel a very strong connection with the natural world, no doubt because we have some sense or understanding of the deep spiritual root of nature. A person who spends a lot of time in nature, will often have a lot of white in their aura, too. But we rain lovers are a special class of people–or so I like to think! I love the rain. Love, love, love it! My whole life.

Yet it wasn’t until just a few years ago that I finally met someone else who got the same joy from rain I have always experienced.

If you want to pin this baby for later, I recommend doing that now!

So there may not be many of us out there, but now folks, if you are one of us, I have found the $20 word to describe us:

Pluviophile (n.) a lover of rain; someone who finds joy and peace of mind during rainy days

About This Quote

I came across this in a blog post from Grammarly on The 10 Most Beautiful Words In the English Language. Part of being a premium member of Grammarly is that they send you a weekly writing stats summary which can be fun all in itself. I love getting to see how I rank against other writers in terms of vocabulary, accuracy and productivity. But the best part of the newsletter is often the article links they share on all sorts of writing topics.

I ALMOST skipped this one, thinking I simply had no time for fun today…but my intuition insisted and gave me this unexpected gift. A word I hadn’t realized I was even looking for because I had no idea it existed. Lesson learned…take time for fun because we need it. So much of our inspiration and delight in life finds us in those moments.

This simple little gift of new knowledge thrilled me so much, I just wanted to put a little meme out for others who I know will be just as delighted as I, if this term applies to them.

Hey, I totally get you rain lover (fist bump!).

How to Tell if You are a Legit Lover of the Rain

While so many feel tired or depressed on rainy days, those are the days that energize me to the max. Others will say how “this is a day to stay curled up warm in bed” but I see rainy days as my most productive.

Joy, peace and a perfect sense of well-being wash over me (pun intended) when the rain starts to come down. I won’t even run to my car to spare my makeup, or duck under an umbrella to save my hairstyle, but instead calmly enjoy the rain’s wet caress, feeling like I am made new all over. The way the rain leaves my makeup and hair looking seems prettier to me anyway.

Best of all, I know Enya gets me better than any other singer in the world.

Are You a Pluviophile?

If you hate the rain, take the time to try and see it in a whole new way. Sometimes just learning that someone else holds a completely different perspective on things ordinarily viewed as a negative experience is all we need to wake us up to new possibilities.

Thinking about things in a new and open-minded way is a great means to strengthen the mind. An open, curious, flexible mind is a goal we should all have. Not so open-minded your brain falls out! But being willing to just listen to other’s perspectives is a great place to start.

Thanks for taking the time to read this post, and I hope you enjoyed it.
